Video of 2018 arrest in Ajax continues to spark new outrage
According to lawyer Faisal Kutty, an elderly black couple was violently arrested outside the Ajax/Pickering hospital in October 2018.
He has shared a video (see below) of part of the arrest on YouTube.
The caption reads: “An elderly black couple, Mr. Jeffers and Mrs. Jeffers, went to the Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital because Mrs. Jeffers was not feeling well. After waiting for some time, they asked their examining doctor if they could leave and return the next day, and were advised that they could. But when trying to leave they were detained, assaulted and charged (Mr. Jeffers) by Durham Regional Police Officers on October 30, 2018, [sic] and there is no accountability or justice for what was done to them.”
